Emirates 777-300ER over Dubai

On a bright morning in Dubai an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER climbs high over the coast of the Arabian Gulf on its way to continental Europe. After having taken off towards the desert to the east, it’s track has taken it over the expansive inland suburbs,  and now offers superb views of the Burj Al Arab and the Palms Jumeirah and Jebel Ali, all of which adorn the coastline as it stretches into the distance.

This particular Boeing 777, with its registration A6-EGO, was famous for being the 1000th airframe of its type, a testament to the success of this truly magnificent aeroplane, which has itself become the embodiment of power, grace and prestige in aviation.
