Maximum Performance
Southwest 737 MAX 8 over Chicago
A Southwest Boeing 787 MAX 8 climbs powerfully and serenely over the shores of Lake Michigan after having departed from Chicago Midway International Airport on a clear day in the Windy City. Chicago Midway is the largest base for Southwest and accounts for the biggest number of daily movements for the airline.
Southwest’s deployment of the 737 MAX is in keeping with the company’s tradition of almost exclusive 737 operation, while adopting all the advancements in new aircraft technology that the MAX has on offer. The Southwest Boeing 787 MAX 8 is powered by two CFM LEAP-1B turbofan jet engines, each capable of producing over 28,000 lbf.
