Emirates Airbus A330-200
An Emirates Airbus A330-200 having taken off in the middle of the day from Dubai International Airport, has the sky over Dubai all to itself. On this particular departure track, known as a Tardi 2 departure, the aircraft takes off towards the Arabian Gulf and turns back towards Dubai’s central business district and the Sheikh Zayed Road, passing almost directly over the Burj Khalifa, the tallest man made structure on earth. The view takes in almost all of Dubai’s famous and iconic landmarks including the Burj Al Arab, the Palm Jumeirah, the Palm Jebel Ali, the World of Islands, and of course, the Burj Khalifa. The A330-200 has been a mainstay of the Emirates fleet and is powered by two Rolls Royce Trent 700 series turbofan jet engines, each capable of producing about 70,000lbs of thrust.
