Commanding The Horizon

Horizon Dash8 Q400 over Portland

A Horizon Air, De Havilland Canada DHC-8-401Q Dash 8, takes off from Portland International Airport, situated on the south bank of the Columbia River. This departure sees the aircraft take off towards the west and then make a left turn over the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers, to commence its run south to one of many regional and domestic destinations serviced by Horizon Air.

This vantage point provides a dramatic backdrop of the natural beauty of western North America, not only of its mighty rivers, but also of the mountains of the Cascade Range, represented here most notably by the majestic Mt Hood whose summit rises to almost 11,250ft, affording it most the commanding presence on the Horizon.
